As temperatures rise and winter finally loosens its grip\, it’s the perfect time to shake the rust out of your legs and welcome a new riding season. \nSet among freshly tilled fields\, bright green shoots\, and wide-open Midwestern skies\, we’re excited to present the Illini Weekend Getaway – The Champaign of Rides! This two-day cycling event (Saturday and Sunday) is based in Champaign and gives you complete flexibility to ride as much\, or as little\, as you want each day. \nThe routes feature four scenic 25-mile loops heading north\, south\, east\, and west\, plus a 14-mile loop\, all starting and ending at one central rest stop. Whether you’re soaking up the gentle spring breezes\, rolling past newly planted farmland\, or chasing sunshine across quiet roads\, you can mix and match loops to build your ideal ride. \nWhen you’re off the bike\, spring energy continues off the roads. Stroll through downtown Urbana\, enjoy patio dining\, explore local shops\, or unwind with fellow riders. Our supported hotel is located right in the heart of downtown\, with abundant restaurants and nightlife nearby\, and the University of Illinois just minutes away – go Illini! \nThe full weekend is very reasonably priced\, and single-day registration is also available. \nCelebrate the season\, enjoy the scenery\, and kick off your cycling year at the Illini Weekend Getaway – The Champaign of Rides!

DESCRIPTION:THE ONLY CYCLING TOUR ACROSS THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF ILLINOIS! \nStarting from the town of Cairo at Illinois’ southernmost tip and ending in the heart of downtown Chicago\, Bicycle Illinois is the only cycling event across the entire state of Illinois. Held annually\, the fully supported ride covers 500 to 600 miles with nightly stops in Cairo\, Carbondale\, Centralia\, Effingham\, Champaign\, and Kankakee. For riders looking for even more of a challenge\, a century option is available every day of the ride. \nThere will be six consecutive days of riding with pre-designated\, supported rest stops along the way. Each ride segment is an estimated 20 miles between rest stops. As always\, this route follows the safest\, most direct route between our stopping towns. \nFor a bigger challenge\, you can continue cycling north to Wisconsin the following day on the Tri-State Tour Chicago Century #2\, which also includes a century option. That’s up to 7 centuries in 7 days – no other cycling event comes close! \nWhether you’re a recreational cyclist looking for the sense of accomplishment\, or an athlete who wants to enhance your endurance skills\, Bicycle Illinois has something for you.
