The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) is a 93-mile, four-season, multi-purpose recreation and transportation corridor across northern Vermont, following the former Lamoille Valley Railroad line. It is the longest rail trail in New England, connecting 18 towns from St. Johnsbury to Swanton, and is managed by the Vermont Agency of Transportation's Rail Trails Program. The trail features a firm compacted crushed stone surface and is open for non-motorized uses like cycling, walking, and cross-country skiing, with snowmobiling permitted in winter.
