Vermont Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a comprehensive state program, part of the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), dedicated to making it safer and easier for students to walk and bicycle to school. It utilizes "The 6 'E's" (Equity, Education, Encouragement, Engineering, Engagement, and Evaluation) to promote active transportation, improve academic performance, and reduce traffic congestion around schools.
