About

Downtube Bicycle Works was a beloved, full-service bicycle shop that served the Capital Region of New York for over 52 years, from 1972 until its closure in March 2024. Located across from Washington Park, the shop was a community hub for cyclists, offering sales of road, mountain, lifestyle, and kids' bikes from brands like Trek, as well as expert repairs and custom builds. The business was locally and family-owned by Robert Fullem, and for a time, was partnered with the adjacent 3fish Coffee. Known for its deep commitment to the local cycling community and its long history, the shop was a fixture on Madison Avenue before closing its doors.
