Bluebikes is Metro Boston's public bike-share program, co-owned by the municipalities of Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville, and Everett, and operated by Lyft. Launched in 2011, the system has grown to over 4,000 bikes and 400 stations, offering a convenient, affordable, and sustainable transportation option for short trips across the metro area. It provides a public transit alternative for residents and visitors, with both classic bikes and ebikes available for single rides or various membership plans.
