Founded in 1936, the New York Cycle Club (NYCC) is the largest recreational cycling club in the New York area, boasting nearly 3,000 members. It is a member-owned and 100% volunteer-run organization dedicated to promoting bicycling for recreation, transportation, fitness, and health. NYCC offers a wide variety of group rides every week, catering to all skill levels from gentle C-rides for newcomers to fast A-rides requiring paceline skills. The club also runs nationally-recognized training programs like the Spring Training Series (SIG/STS), hosts weekend excursions, and organizes special events like the annual Escape New York ride. Membership provides access to a vibrant cycling community, organized rides, and discounts at local bike shops.
