Spring is in the air! Budding trees line the roads, early blooms dot the countryside, birdsong fills the mornings, and longer, sunnier days invite you back outside. As temperatures rise and winter finally loosens its grip, it’s the perfect time to shake the rust out of your legs and welcome a new riding season.

Set among freshly tilled fields, bright green shoots, and wide-open Midwestern skies, we’re excited to present the Illini Weekend Getaway – The Champaign of Rides! This two-day cycling event (Saturday and Sunday) is based in Champaign and gives you complete flexibility to ride as much, or as little, as you want each day.

The routes feature four scenic 25-mile loops heading north, south, east, and west, plus a 14-mile loop, all starting and ending at one central rest stop. Whether you’re soaking up the gentle spring breezes, rolling past newly planted farmland, or chasing sunshine across quiet roads, you can mix and match loops to build your ideal ride.

When you’re off the bike, spring energy continues off the roads. Stroll through downtown Urbana, enjoy patio dining, explore local shops, or unwind with fellow riders. Our supported hotel is located right in the heart of downtown, with abundant restaurants and nightlife nearby, and the University of Illinois just minutes away – go Illini!

The full weekend is very reasonably priced, and single-day registration is also available.
