Ride 2 Rescue Cycling Launches National Initiative Turning Miles Into Second Chances for Dogs in Need
San Diego, CA — 12/20/25 — A new national nonprofit initiative is officially launching with a simple but powerful mission: turn miles into second chances. Ride 2 Rescue Cycling (R2R) is a cycling-driven movement that unites cyclists, communities, and dog rescues nationwide to raise funds, awareness, and hope for dogs in need.
Ride 2 Rescue Cycling empowers cyclists of all levels, recreational riders, racers, and advocates- to ride with purpose by representing local dog rescues in their communities. Each chapter partners directly with a rescue organization, allowing riders to fundraise, race, and participate in events while supporting lifesaving work at the local level, all under one unified national banner.
“Cycling already brings people together through shared effort and passion,” said Steve Remy, Founder of Ride 2 Rescue Cycling. “We created Ride 2 Rescue to channel that energy into something bigger, giving dogs a second chance at life while building a nationwide community of riders who believe every mile can make a difference.”
Unlike traditional fundraising models, Ride 2 Rescue Cycling blends athletic participation, storytelling, and rescue advocacy. Riders can dedicate miles, events, or entire seasons to a rescue partner, while supporters follow the journeys of both cyclists and dogs through digital content, social media, and community events.
The organization’s first official rescue chapter has launched in Southern California with Coastal K9 German Shepherd Rescue, and additional chapters are planned nationwide throughout 2025 and beyond. Each chapter operates locally while benefiting from shared branding, marketing support, and a growing national platform designed to amplify impact.
